Altared Lives Radio has a few policies for airplay:
1. Due to ALR's strategic alliance with Holy Hip Hop Radio, we now request 2 copies of each CD to meet the needs of both establishments. One (1) should be sent to:
HOLY HIP HOP RADIO
ATTN EDDIE VELEZ
P O BOX 1023
PINE LAKE GA 30072
And one (1) should be sent to:
ALTARED LIVES RADIO
ATTN DONNA VERNE
P O BOX 21289
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA 31522
2. Artist must be a practicing, professing Christian. ALR doesn't spin positive rap by non-believers.
3. Music must not contain potentially offensive language, such as the "n" word or "h" word for females, nor other language that would be considered too raw.
4. Recording must be of acceptable recorded quality. If submitted as mp3's it must be encoded at 128kbps.
5. Music must match both the flava and the format of ALR.
6. If desiring to submit music via the Internet, please do not send mp3's to this email address. Please utilize www.yousendit.com to FTP the mp3 files to their servers with the recipient of alr(at)altaredlives.org. The Altared Lives email address is not set up to handle large files and mp3's effectively clog the email client and prevent other email from being received in a timely fashion.
7. If the CD cover is to be included on the website as the song plays on ALR, it should be submitted with the music (jpeg via yousendit.com or as part of the CD jewel case if a CD is mailed). Sometimes artists send in music and later decide to send in artwork, but everything needs to be submitted as a complete package to ensure efficient use of our time. Depending upon my inclination, we may or may not add artwork later if it is not submitted with the music.
8. Songs should be clearly identified by name. (You won't believe this, but we sometimes receive CDs with no song titles listed anywhere in the package.)
9. If you use a CDR as your CD, please do not affix a small label on one side. Labels sometimes cause the CD to not play properly because the label causes an imbalance in the player. To label the CD, please use a full CD label (the round ones that fit the CD), or write on the CD with a marker.
