Music Submission Policies

We accept Gospel Hip Hop and "danceable" Rhythm-n-Gospel (Gospel R&B) exclusively. For airplay consideration, we accept music two ways:

1. One (1) copy of  your CD, including any cover art, may be sent to:

ALTARED LIVES RADIO
ATTN DONNA VERNE
P O BOX 21289
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA 31522

2. Or, you may use our upload page. PLEASE  DO NOT UPLOAD .zip files. Sorry, the ministry does not accept .zip files from unfamiliar sources.

Please do not EMAIL mp3s to our email address(es). Please use the uploads page to send mp3s via the Internet if you prefer not to mail a CD.

To use our upload page, we require:
(a) Properly named mp3 files encoded at 128kbps. File upload size is limited to 10MB
(b) Cover art (if it exists; otherwise we will associate a "no cover" .jpg with your song)
(c) Song list of music being submitted containing artist name, song title, and album title (if it's not a radio single) so we can match files to song lists. If it's a single release or EP, please indicate that. This can be a .doc or .txt file.

Please make sure the mp3 file name indicates the artist and song title, in this format:
Artist - Song Title.mp3. Mp3's named "Track 05" or "final mix" and the like will be deleted. ALR is a licensed webcaster and music rights organizations such as ASCAP, Soundexchange, BMI and SESAC require (a) and (c) from webcasters.

Further requirements for airplay consideration are:

1. Artist must be a practicing, professing Christian. ALR doesn't spin positive rap by non-believers.

2. Music must not contain potentially offensive language, such as the "n" word or "h" word for females, nor other language that would be considered too raw.

3. Recording must be of acceptable recorded quality. Mp3's must be encoded at 128kbps.

4. Please do not submit .wma files. They cannot be converted to mp3's.

5. Music must match both the flava and the format of ALR.

6. Please do not send mp3's to any of our email addresses. The Altared Lives email addresses are not set up to handle large files and mp3's effectively clog our email client and prevent other email from being received in a timely fashion. Such submissions will be deleted without airplay consideration.

7. CD cover art should be submitted with the music (jpeg via our upload page, or should be sent as part of the package if a CD is mailed). Everything needs to be submitted as a complete package to ensure efficient use of everyone's time.

8. Songs should be clearly identified by name. We sometimes receive CDs in the mail with no song titles listed anywhere in the package. These are discarded as we cannot webcast them.

9. If you use a CDR as your CD, please do not affix a small label on one side. Labels sometimes cause the CD to not play properly because the label causes an unbalanced weight in the player. To label the CD, please use a full CD label (the round ones that fit the CD), or write on the CD with a marker.
